Do you have a passion for singing or just love having a good time? Do you want to put your talent toward a good cause? Then come to "Sing For a Cause" - a karaoke night dedicated to raising awareness toward Mental Health and Suicide.
"Sing For a Cause" is a totally non-profit event, acting as an adjunct to the Youth Awareness Summer Series. On July 29th, the Summer Series will focus on Mental Health/Suicide Awareness, intending to reduce stigma and promote open dialogue. The evening will kick off at 4 pm with a series of moving stories of how mental illness can drastically effect our lives. Stories will be shared by speakers through Voices of Recovery as well as local experts sharing how they have been personally moved. Refreshments will be served from 6 to 7, after which the singing will begin! Local agencies have generously donated prizes to be awarded throughout the night.
